Reduced Services
The U.S. Embassy Consular Section in Libreville will be offering reduced services Friday, August 4, 2023, through Monday, August 25, 2023.
No routine American Citizen Services (consular reports of birth abroad, first time or renewal passport applications, or notary services) will be available.
Regular operations will resume on Monday, August 28, 2023.
In the event of an emergency, U.S. citizens may call 011-45-71-00 (local) or +241-11-45-71-00 (international) and ask for the Consular Section during working hours, or 077-38-01-71 (local) or +241 77 38 01 71 (international) after hours. The Department of State’s Office of Overseas Citizen Services can be reached from within the United States toll free at 888-407-4747.
The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Libreville provides the following routine services to American citizens: passport issuance and renewals, issuance of Consular Reports of Birth Abroad to American citizens born overseas, enrollment of American citizens, and notarials. It is also responsible for the issuance of travel warnings, public announcements, and other travel information for Gabon.
The Consular Section is open to U.S. citizens for routine services by appointment only every other Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
