The United States Embassy in Libreville requests any U.S. citizens resident in São Tomé and Príncipe who need consular services to contact us by email (LibrevilleACS@state.gov) or phone +241 11 45 71 00 to receive information about limited services being available in São Tomé on September 7. Services being offered include receiving applications for passports (initial or renewal) and reports of U.S. citizen births abroad, and notary actions. All fees will have to be paid in cash using U.S. dollars. Applicants will also need to provide color copies of all official documents.
Due to COVID constraints, U.S. Embassy Libreville is not able to offer routine U.S. citizen services at this time, but are working diligently to restore all routine consular operations as quickly and safely as possible. Please continue to monitor this site for information on when we will return to routine consular operations. We will assist U.S. citizens with consular emergencies. In the event of an emergency, please contact LibrevilleACS@State.gov to request an emergency appointment.
The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Libreville provides the following routine services to American citizens: passport issuance and renewals, issuance of Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) to American citizens born overseas, Consular Reports of Death of a U.S. Citizen Abroad, and notarial services. It is also responsible for the issuance of travel warnings, public announcements, and other travel information for Gabon and Sao Tome & Principe.
Routine services are by appointment only. You must schedule your appointment online.
No appointment is necessary for emergency services for U.S. citizens.
