Ellen Thorburn, Chargé d’Affaires at U.S. Embassy Libreville, and Deputy Chief of Mission David Mosby took part in the Office of Security Cooperation’s initiative to distribute more than 11,000 bottles of water to five children’s shelters in Libreville. The five facilities are :
St. John’s Seminary geriatric ward, Sisters of St. Mary’s Cathedral boarding school, the Beatitudes boarding school, the Arc en Ciel Center and the SOS Mwanas orphanage.
These bottles are timely in supporting local efforts to ensure access to safe water and sanitation, both of which are essential to the safety of staff and residents in the fight against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
The U.S. Embassy’s Office of Security Cooperation is proud to support efforts to create an environment where the most vulnerable people in our communities can always have access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and basic health services.
