The U.S. Embassy’s Office of Security Cooperation donates thousands of bottles of water to local orphanages

Representatives from the United States Embassy in Gabon recently visited several orphanages in Libreville to build relationships with local centers who assist children in need.

Operations Coordinator Abdoul Niane, Public Affairs Officer Brittany Thompson, and General Services Officer Sean Varner met with representatives from four orphanages in the Gabonese capital: Maison de l’Esperance, SOS MWANA, CAPEDS, and AEODA.  The U.S. Embassy donated more than 38,000 bottles of mineral water to the orphanages in a show of solidarity for their efforts to assist children in need.

Pastor Israel Ndogou Ndogou, founder of the Maison de l’Esperance (House of Hope) Orphanage, expressed his appreciation for the Embassy’s visit and donation.  He stated their charity could only continue its mission thanks to the assistance from institutions like the U.S. Embassy and the goodwill of volunteers.
