The U.S. government partnered with the Gabonese Ministry of Interior and Justice to provide training to over 50 magistrates on handling cases of human trafficking October 28-30. The Department of State, in collaboration with the Warnath Group, brought two U.S. district court judges to Libreville to lead the interactive training, which included multiple case studies and placed a strong emphasis on the victim-centered approach.
Human trafficking is a scourge that touches every country on the globe, including the United States. We can only fight this global problem by working together. More information can be found at the Department of State Trafficking in Persons Report. Press statement as prepared by Chargé d’affaires Robert Whitehead can be found here.
