Exit Visas No Longer Required

U.S. Embassy Libreville has confirmed that exit visas for U.S. citizens with residence permits (cartes de séjour) are no longer required.

Short-term visitors to Gabon are permitted to stay up to 90 days.  Visitors who wish to remain in the country for longer than 90 days must obtain a residence permit (carte de séjour).  In the past, Gabon had required exit visas for U.S. citizens with a carte de séjour. With this change, U.S. citizens with a carte de séjour can depart from Gabon without an exit visa.

The Embassy will post updates if additional information becomes available.
