U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) of State Amy Holman was pleased to lead the U.S. delegation, along with Chargé d’affaires Ellen Thorburn, at the One Forest Summit in Libreville on March 1 – 2.
We applaud Gabon’s leadership in efforts to preserve the world’s tropical rainforests. We congratulate the Gabonese government on hosting a successful summit, and look forward to continuing to cooperate to combat climate change.
On the margins of the One Forest Summit, DAS Holman met with Gabonese Defense Minister Félicité Ongouori Ngoubili.
They had a fruitful discussion on bilateral security and training opportunities to further strengthen our security cooperation.
While visiting Gabon to attend the One Forest Summit, DAS Holman met with Minister of Commerce Yves Fernand Manfoumbi.
They discussed the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Gabon and the United States.
